The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched- they must be felt with the heart.

Pentax K-x

So I think we've covered this before, but, I undoubtedly have the BEST husband ever. A couple days ago I got my new camera in the mail. Happy early birthday to me! It's my first real DSLR and I'm IN LOVE. Still trying to figure it all out and happy to report I'm not above taking a class on using DSLR's I will start school in September :) GO ME! I am in love with photography, but found it's much like writing...have you ever dug out an old diary just to read it and found that your thoughts were so juvenile back then? I think looking at old photographs is much the same. But it's neat to see where you started and where you are present day. So I hope to grow in this medium...and I hope to look back on these first shots and see significant growth.

Photography is so neat. It lets me take something in my head and give it life. sometimes when I'm playing and editing something pops out I didn't see the beauty in before...and if people don't particularly like it...that's alright because at the end of the day I still created something. I love the feeling of KNOWING I got THE shot and not being able to wait to get it out of the camera.

here are shots with my new camera...any constructive suggestions??

To Climb a Mountian

To Climb a Mountian: I've found that to say you are going to climb a mountian and to ACTUALLY climb a mountian are two completely different things.

When I picture climbing a mountian in my head, I always picture two fit people with hiking boots and shorts on, looking refreshed and strong, with their backpacks, glowing with sweat. The actual picture is: two wildly out of shape people, climbing a mountian, stopping for frequent breaks, in a POOL of salty sweat, heaving and on the brink of death...there is absolutely NOTHING glamorous about it...at all..It's hard work but the top there's the view, and the chance to sit down and look through God's window. and it's worth it. Every gallon of sweat. It's worth it.

It's kind of like life. What you picture, and what is actual, are never the same. But the top? it's worth all the hard work.

MONTster

I love this beast! I get so attached to my four legged friends. Monte is naughty more often than not but i have to say i secretly LOVE it. He's so funny. Recently he ate an electric sander. AN. ELECTRIC. SANDER. I would be more angry if i wasn't so impressed. I miss my Bella girl all the time. But I love that Monte has such a different personality. He's very laid back and likes to do his own thing and is NOT a cuddler. But he always wakes up wagging his tail and licking my hand. And there is no greater feeling than coming home from a horrible day and seeing how excited he is just to see me! (that's more than i can say for my husband on most days!) It's like you made his day just by walking in the door. I LOVE THAT. I hope he stays a happy dog and thinks that he has a good life. He makes mine happy that's for sure!

Weekending

Our first camping trip of the season! we stayed at the beautiful taughannock falls state park.

We went with a bunch of friends and did the annual Wine and Herb Festival which was a blast as always! The area is just so nice and it is always a great time! I did however drop my camera at one point and we thought it was broken...but phew! it started working again. Frank did make a comment that I did it on purpose to get the new Pentax 200d that I want but it was indeed...an accident. Because of this i didn't take many pictures for fear of repeating the incident.

Frank is not nearly as irritated with me as he looks...
